Massachusetts dropped the word "Media" from their professional organization's title. Formerly known as the Massachusetts School Library Media Association, they are now the Massachusetts School Library Association. http://www.mslma.org/ They presently have a Technology Integration Award. Their librarians are "library teachers." Canada uses the title "teacher librarians."
School libraries are rapidly moving into the digital world as they should. School library teachers are learning to use the emerging technologies in their professional development endeavors. This an exciting time to teach in the school library. Now is the perfect opportunity to practice those life long learning skills to upgrade and refocus for the 21century knowledge society.
